We allow a maximum of 2 cancellations with 24 hours notice per calendar month
Cancellations for official public holidays are not billed
Teacher cancellations are not billed and will be replaced

ADVANCED I

For students who are confident and fast English speakers and have studied for a considerable time before or who have even lived in an English speaking country for some time. Although students of this level are fast capable speakers they do make mistakes and often their pronunciation also needs work. In this level we concentrate on correcting these mistakes and on improving vocabulary, especially phrasal verbs and idiomatic expressions. Listening skills are good, they can get the general idea while watching films or T.V. However, when confronted by difficult accents they may get lost. Their fluency level is around 75% upon entering this level.

Grammar Objetives

Review and reinforce previous course objectives :

• General grammar review - tenses etc (especially present perfect/past perfect+continuos)
• Future continuous + future perfect
• Conditionals 0, 1, 2, 3 and mixed
• Past modals with continuous tenses
• Use infinitive and gerund correctly
• Use gerund correctly with expressions like - look forward to,get round to...
• Phrasal verbs 3 (see list )
• Idiomatic expressions 2 (see list )
• Hardly , barely , scarcely
• Too and so
• Prepositions
• Hope, wait ,expect
• Wish, if only

Oral Objetives

Students should be proficient in the followinge.

• Use in sentence and question form all the main tenses
• Use the infinitive and gerund correctly with used to, be used to, look forward to and after prepositions
• Use common phrasal verbs and idiomatic expressions correctly and frequently
• Use an extensive vocabulary

At this level we encourage teachers to use extra material like articles from magazines, newspapers and the internet.
