Cancellation Policy:
All cancellations made without 24 hours notice will be billed
We allow a maximum of 2 cancellations with 24 hours notice per calendar month
Cancellations for official public holidays are not billed
Teacher cancellations are not billed and will be replaced

INTERMEDIATE I

For students who can express themselves in English and can communicate their basic wants and needs as well as basic ideas. Their main problem is fluency the lack of vocabulary and listening skills which are also poor. They are often slow to speak and have to translate their ideas first before communicating them. They are able to understand basic spoken English but soon get lost when watching T.V. or when involved in a conversation. Their pronunciation is also poor. In this course we concentrate on practicing the structures, making the students speak and express their ideas. Often students at this level have studied English for sometime before and have a good working knowledge of the grammar stucture but have never had the opportunity to practice them orally. Their fluency level is around 40% upon entry.

Review and reinforce previous course objectives :

• Present perfect / Present perfect cont and difference between them
• Questions with how long and present perfect/present perfect cont tense
• Past perfect
• Use of past perf with simple past
• The passive - present and past passive
• Modal verbs - must, should, would, might, may, could
• Conditionals 1 + 2
• Advice - with should, if i were you...
• Use correctly - during, yet, for, until, already, until, while
• Questions with -How long, how many, how much
• Used to / be used to

Oral Objetives

Students should be proficient in the followinge.

• Use in sentence and question form : present perfect/present perfect cont, simple
  past and past perfect.
• Use the infinitive and gerund correctly with used to, be used to, look forward to
  and after prepositions
• Talk about past using used to
• Use make and do correctly
• Ask for and give advice
• Use passive
• Use conditionals 1 + 2
• Use adj / verb with the correct preposition
• Use count and non count nouns and quantifiers correctly
